This area of my work is most enjoyable and is creating some exciting attention too! The need to break the rigours of commercial Illustration has created a whole new creative world for me to explore...This work is the perfect antidote. Commercial illustration can be very demanding and after a hard days graft I’m rather inclined to gather my lively pooch, find a hilly peak and melt into the vista; then I realised there was a whole new pictorial world out there to sample. Painting and drawing fluently without the restraints of budgets and deadlines touches the parts that Illustration alone cannot reach...it also gives me opportunity to sharpen up my skills and experiment! I very much enjoy being outside, away from the intensity of my studio; back in nature and with the phone switched off!
